Today, Sanuk announced a collaboration with iconic rock band, Grateful Dead. Launching on 4/20, the exclusive collection for men and women celebrates the legacy of arguably one of the greatest bands of all time – with tie-dye colors of course!

Who's up for a revolutionary evolutionary ride? DAVE'S PICKS VOLUME 30: FILLMORE EAST, NEW YORK, NEW YORK 1/2/70 captures the Grateful Dead as they make their first foray from the experimental 60s into their early 70s acoustic Americana period. Yes, this one is a little bit country and a little bit (psychedelic) rock and roll.

“In 1969, for their third album, the Grateful Dead eschewed outside producers and created Aoxomoxoa themselves, beginning a run of self-produced albums that would continue until 1977. Scrapping the first sessions, which were recorded to eight-track tape, the Dead now had 16 tracks with which to experiment their psychedelic sound, with an album that included entirely Robert Hunter-penned lyrics for the first time.” - Archivist David Lemieux

On March 15th Round Records released the highly anticipated box set from Jerry Garcia Band, Electric On The Eel. The Six-CD set contains three complete performances from the storied Northern California hippie haven of French’s Camp on the Eel River located in rural Mendocino County.

Blakesberg’s presentation invariably has Deadheads grinning ear-to-ear AND shedding tears of joy as they absorb his epic photos and cosmic storytelling…a journey utterly infused with the spirit of the good ole’ Grateful Dead.

The indelible images capture the essence of Jerry, including peak moments from concerts at venues such as Red Rocks, Winterland, Radio City Music Hall, Capitol Theater, Shoreline, Madison Square Garden, Oakland, even Europe, and so many more...

Since the Grateful Dead has always cherished weirdness as a super-positive adjective, it’s not totally surprising that the post-Dead scene should have the weirdest possible outcome….namely, instead of fading away, Dead-Head-ism is growing just as it always has.  Now, it turns out, Dead Heads are fans of the music even more than the band, so that who’s playing the music is mostly a matter of taste and choice.

The Garcia Project will do an eight-night run on the west coast in March 2018, focusing on the Jerry Garcia Band’s 1976-1978 set lists and performances. As a special treat, the first two shows on the tour will feature Maria Muldaur on vocals! Maria Muldaur will join The Garcia Project on March 14, 2019 at The HopMonk in Sebastopol, CA and also on March 15, 2019 at The Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA.

Sad to learn about the passing of Gloria Y Jones, longtime backup vocalist for the old Jerry Garcia Band and Melvin Seals' modern-day JGB.

Electric On The Eel, the long-awaited six-CD box set featuring the Jerry Garcia Band, is set for release on March 15th via Round Records. Recorded at the semi-secluded French’s Camp on the Eel River in Piercy, CA, Electric On The Eel includes three full electric sets performed in 1987, 1989 and 1991.
